Diageo Leven site is seeking a Mechanical Production Engineer for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role covers maintenance of mechanical assets, collaborating with operations, and ensuring safety and performance across a fast-paced FMCG packaging environment.

Weekend shifts are Friday–Sunday, with nights on a 1-in-3 rotation. The successful candidate will engage with maintenance teams, implement preventive programs, and respond promptly to breakdowns to minimize downtime, while upholding

Qualifications

• Experience in a production/FMCG environment
• Ability to work in a team and make effective decisions
• Willingness to push improvements and ideas
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and environmental risk principles
• Desirable: Fabricating and welding, Machining background, IOSH or similar safety qualifications
• Packaging / bottling hall experience

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with operations teams, CAPEX and maintenance groups to drive performance improvements.
• Engage with operations and maintenance personnel to deliver maintenance with minimal production impact.
• Implement and develop maintenance programs to improve asset performance.
• Respond to plant breakdowns, identify root causes and repair.
• Report maintenance outcomes via SAP and share best practices.
• Uphold health and safety compliance and ensure site and personal KPIs are met.

Leven packages a huge volume of Scotch malt whiskies, white spirits and ready to drink brands to supply over 170 countries around the world and is a key manufacturing site within the Scotch supply category.As a Mechanical Production Engineer within our team at Leven, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance, repair, problem-solving, and improvement of all mechanical assets to maximize their availability across the site.Key responsibilities:* Collaborate with operations teams, CAPEX, and other maintenance groups to drive operational performance and improvements.* Engage with operations teams and maintenance personnel to deliver and review mandatory and requested maintenance with minimal production impact, ensuring the availability of spare parts for scheduled maintenance tasks.* Implement and develop maintenance programs aimed at supporting and improving asset performance and utilization.* Respond promptly to plant breakdowns, identifying and repairing root causes to minimize downtime.* Report maintenance outcomes via SAP to ensure the sharing of best practices.* Uphold health and safety compliance and maintaining high-quality standards in all aspects of work. Health and safety compliance is key, and you will be at the forefront of making sure this is monitored alongside ensuring both site and personal KPI’s are achieved. **Shifts**As a Weekend Production Mechanical Engineer, you will work Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7 am to 7 pm with rotating nights 1 weekend out of 3 from 7 pm to 7 am.**Experience/skills required:**To be successful in this role, we’re looking for someone who has strong interpersonal skills and can communicate at all levels We would love to talk to someone who can use initiative and push forward their own ideas whilst offering guidance and support for our current approaches.Key skills and experience:* Relevant qualifications and have demonstrable knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and environmental risk principles* Experience in a production/FMCG environment desirable* Can work well within a team as well as the ability to make effective decisions and thrive in situations where they can solve problems* Able to push forward your own ideas about improvements to current approaches and appraise new opportunities.
