Job summary

Bilfinger UK is seeking an experienced Scheduler/Planner to drive maintenance scheduling for energy production assets on site in the United Kingdom. You will develop comprehensive, proactive mechanical maintenance plans and align activities with production constraints, ensuring safety and efficiency.

The role requires Primavera P6 expertise, strong mechanical knowledge, and the ability to collaborate with field technicians and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience scheduling workloads in heavy industry, engineering or construction environments.
• Strong Primavera P6 proficiency with logic networks, critical path, and resource loading.
• Solid mechanical knowledge of rotating equipment, valves and piping; oil & gas exposure preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed job plans with step-by-step instructions, hazard IDs, isolation procedures and drawings.
• Maintain and update schedules using Primavera P6 to map timelines and resources.
• Review maintenance requests and prioritise safety- or production-critical tasks.
• Coordinate with procurement and inventory to verify availability of spares before scheduling work.
• Conduct post-job reviews to analyse variances and refine future packages.

Key Accountabilities

• Maximise equipment reliability and uptime by developing comprehensive, proactive mechanical maintenance schedules and job packages tailored to energy production assets.
• Ensure strict compliance with stringent oil & gas health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations across all planned work scopes.
• Optimise maintenance costs and resource allocation by establishing accurate estimates for labor, materials, and specialised tools.
• Bridge the communication gap between production, operations, and maintenance teams to safely align engineering activities with plant constraints.

Key Duties

• Create detailed job plans featuring step-by-step technical instructions, hazard identifications, isolation procedures, and technical drawings.
• Build, update, and manage the maintenance schedule using Primavera P6 to ensure all operational timelines and resource constraints are accurately mapped.
• Review and prioritise maintenance requests to ensure urgent safety or production-critical tasks are addressed efficiently.
• Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to verify the availability of heavy mechanical spares and kit materials prior to scheduling work.
• Conduct post-job reviews to analyse variance in planned versus actual hours and refine future planning packages.

Experience

• Demonstrated experience in scheduling or planning workloads, with specific exposure to heavy industry, engineering, or construction environments.
• Proven proficiency in Primavera P6 software, including a strong understanding of logic networks, critical path analysis, and resource loading.
• Strong foundational knowledge of mechanical principles, including an understanding of rotating equipment, valves, and piping systems; prior oil & gas experience is preferred but not essential.
• Possession of a relevant technical degree, diploma, or recognised trade apprenticeship qualification in mechanical or industrial engineering is preferred but not essential.
• Ability to work full-time on-site Monday to Friday (38 hours per week), collaborating directly with field technicians and operations teams.
