Job summary

Sanderson Plc is seeking a Mechanical Operator to join our aerospace maintenance team at RAF Marham. This full-time on-site role involves metalworking, corrosion remediation, drilling, reaming and bonding on aircraft components, following approved procedures.

You will work 37 hours per week (Mon-Fri) with possible shift work and a 24-month contract. NVQ Level 2 in Engineering or an equivalent apprenticeship is required, with a background in engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

• Experience using manual and pneumatic tools.
• Experience working with metal and/or composite structures.
• Background in drilling, reaming, fastening or similar engineering activities.
• Understanding of quality, safety and compliance standards.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Mechanical Operator

Location: Full time On-site, RAF Marham

Contract: 24 month contract

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Hourly Rate: £23.38 PAYE or £31.34 Umbrella

We are recruiting for a Mechanical Operator to support aircraft maintenance and repair activities within a skilled engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out metalworking and corrosion remediation activities on aircraft
• Prepare metal and composite structures for repair
• Perform drilling, reaming and fastening activities
• Apply adhesive bonding techniques
• Complete maintenance tasks in line with approved procedures and safety standards
• Accurately record and report maintenance activities

About You

• Experience using manual and pneumatic tools
• Experience working with metal and/or composite structures
• Background in drilling, reaming, fastening or similar engineering activities
• Understanding of quality, safety and compliance standards
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
• NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline
• Engineering Apprenticeship, military equivalent, or demonstrable relevant experience

Working Hours

• Standard hours: 37 per week
• Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:30
• Friday: 07:30 - 12:00
• Potential requirement for shift work depending on business needs
• Candidates should be aware that this position may involve shift work. Nightshift pattern Days: 07:30 till 16:00hrs and Nights: 16:00 to 02:00hrs
