Job summary

Procter & Gamble in London is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join the Plant Distribution Center Systems Team. The role involves maintaining and optimizing equipment and facilities to support production and distribution objectives, with a Days/Nights shift pattern.

Responsibilities include preventative and reactive maintenance on conveyors, pallet storage systems, and automated equipment; diagnosing faults, installing and commissioning machinery, fabricating components,

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Millwright or Maintenance Fitter in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Technical qualification in mechanical engineering (NVQ Level 3, ONC or C&G Part 3, Apprenticeship).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Experience reading technical drawings and maintenance manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on industrial machinery.
• Diagnose faults in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems and implement repairs.
• Install, commission, and decommission machinery per safety procedures.
• Fabricate, assemble and repair mechanical components and structures.
• Inspect equipment and test utility systems to ensure performance and compliance.
• Maintain Auto Storage & Retrieval Systems and conveyors.
• Operate shop equipment including lathes, milling machines and grinders.
• Document work orders, repairs and parts usage accurately.
• Collaborate with production, engineers and other departments to resolve issues.
• Support continuous improvement to improve equipment reliability.
