Job summary

MC Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician for a new build power station in Chester. The role is days-based, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with generous pay, overtime, and a bonus structure.

You will perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on mechanical and rotating equipment, interpret P&IDs and drawings, and support outages and commissioning as the plant progresses toward operation.

Qualifications

• ONC/City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 3+ years in power generation or heavy industrial plant maintenance
• Familiarity with cranes, drives, pumps, fans, rotating machinery
• Able to read P&IDs and schematics
• CMMS knowledge; RAMS practice

Responsibilities

• Carrying out preventative & breakdown maintenance on mechanical & rotating plant equipment
• Maintaining & troubleshooting cranes, pumps, fans, & drive systems
• Interpreting drawings (P&IDs, isometrics) to support fault finding & repairs
• Planning & supporting outages; managing CMMS records; ensuring equipment compliance
• Providing technical support; supervising contractors; contributing to continuous improvement & on-call cover
• Other duties as required

Mechanical Maintenance Technician

MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a new build power station currently under construction. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to see all the stages of a new build through commissioning & operational start up.

This is a days-based position working a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out preventative & breakdown maintenance on mechanical & rotating plant equipment
• Maintaining & troubleshooting key systems including cranes, pumps, fans, & drive systems
• Interpreting technical drawings (P&IDs, isometrics) to support fault finding & repairs
• Planning & supporting outages, managing CMMS records, & ensuring equipment compliance
• Providing technical support, supervising contractors, & contributing to continuous improvement & on-call cover
• Other duties as required

Requirements

• An ONC / City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) & relevant experience
• 3+ years’ experience in power generation or heavy industrial plant maintenanceli>
• The ability to demonstrate familiarity with cranes, mechanical drives, pumps, fans, & rotating machinery
• Skill in reading & interpreting technical drawings including P&IDs & pneumatic/hydraulic schematics
• CMMS systems knowledge, applying health, safety & environmental practices, & following RAMS
