Job summary

Think FE Ltd is recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join the Estates and Facilities team at a college in North Yorkshire. The role focuses on keeping heating, ventilation and mechanical building services running safely and efficiently, with responsibilities ranging from PPM to fault diagnosis.

You will work Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with 30 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, and a permanent, full-time contract.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical maintenance, facilities management or engineering environment.
• Practical experience using tools and maintenance equipment safely.
• Ability to identify faults and perform basic mechanical repairs.
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety.
• Good problem-solving and practical maintenance approach.
• Good communication and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Reliable, organised and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to day-to-day maintenance requests.
• Support servicing, maintenance and repair of mechanical building services.
• Maintain and troubleshoot heating, cooling and ventilation systems.
• Conduct routine inspections, identify faults and carry out repairs.
• Assist with monitoring and maintenance of water systems and TMVs.
• Support repairs and replacements of mechanical components alongside contractors.
• Ensure tools, equipment and work areas are maintained safely and observe health and safety procedures.
