Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician (Industrial) in Dudley to join the UK's leading steel processing specialist. The role involves reactive and preventative maintenance on plant and machinery, with training to upskill into heavy industrial equipment.

Working on a 3-shift pattern with overtime allowances, you will liaise across departments to keep the factory running smoothly. A forklift license may be gained, with progression and health care support on offer.

Qualifications

• Must have experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Role requires Mechanical Fitter/Technician/Engineer background.
• Willing to commute to factory in Dudley.

Responsibilities

• Reactive and preventative maintenance for plant and steel processing machinery.
• Service and repair, diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Cross-departmental liaison to ensure smooth factory operations.
• 1st week Mon-Fri (6am-2pm), 2nd week Mon-Thurs (2pm-12am), 3rd week Mon-Thurs (8am-6am).
• Plenty of overtime available (1.3x pay during week; 1.5x Saturday; 2x Sunday).

Are you a Mechanical Technician, Fitter or similar looking to join the UK’s biggest steel processing specialist offering a dynamic work schedule with 4 day working weeks and full training to upskill into heavy industrial machinery?

Join an established steel processer offering top-of-the-line, including opportunities to gain a forklift license as well as best-in-class personal and professional development opportunities. After continued growth for over 30 years, they are looking to grow their tight-knit engineering team.

In this role, you will be responsible for both the reactive and preventative maintenance for plant/steel processing machinery. On top of this, you will be responsible for cross-departmental liaison to ensure the smooth running of the factory, working closely with Electrical Maintenance Engineers. This role works on a 3 shift pattern – 1st week (6am-2pm), 2nd week (2pm-12am), 3rd week (8pm-6am) with shift allowance for late night shifts

This role would suit a Mechanical Maintenance fitter / Technician with experience in hydraulics and pneumatics looking to upskill with the UK’s leading steel processor.
