Job summary

Solenis is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance team on a COMAH site, with a hands‑on approach to safety, reliability and performance. You’ll develop the team and drive improvements to keep the plant running at its best.

Location: Bradford, UK. You’ll coordinate planned, preventive and reactive maintenance, manage contractors and ensure work meets safety standards, working with Operations, EC&I, Planning and EHS.

Job description

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to join our team and take the lead in developing and supporting our mechanical maintenance function within an upper-tier COMAH manufacturing environment. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll work with a skilled maintenance team, helping to keep the site safe, reliable and performing at its best, while having the opportunity to make a real impact on how we work.

What you'll be doing

• Lead, support and develop a team of Mechanical Maintenance Technicians, making the best use of skills and resources.
• Coordinate planned, preventive, reactive and corrective maintenance to keep the plant running safely and reliably.
• Support the planning and delivery of site shutdowns, coordinating internal teams, contractors, materials and specialist support.
• Manage mechanical contractors, ensuring work is completed safely and to the required standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow-up actions within SAP/CMMS.
• Work closely with Operations, EC&I, Planning, Reliability and EHS to solve problems and continuously improve safety, reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• You will be an experienced mechanical maintenance professional from a chemical, process industry or manufacturing environment, with the technical knowledge and leadership skills to support and develop a successful maintenance team.
• A recognised Level 3 Mechanical Engineering/Maintenance qualification or equivalent.

Desirable

• COMAH/high-hazard experience and knowledge of DSEAR/ATEX.
• HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• CompEx Ex11 Mechanical, or willingness to achieve.
• IOSH, NEBOSH and/or SMSTS qualifications.
