Job summary

Stirling Warrington Limited in Sheffield is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our established manufacturing site. The role focuses on keeping production equipment running safely and efficiently, with a rotating double-day shift (06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00) and no night shifts.

The salary is £46,500 per year, plus a company pension and 25 days holiday. You will perform planned preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical faults, service conveyors, pumps, gearboxes and

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical maintenance within manufacturing or similar industrial environments.
• A recognised mechanical engineering qualification.
• Strong fault-finding and breakdown experience.
• Experience with PPM schedules and maintenance systems.
• Proactive hands-on approach to maintenance and problem-solving.
• Basic electrical knowledge is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
• Maintain conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, motors and related machinery.
• Work with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Support continuous improvement and machinery reliability projects.
• Collaborate with production teams to improve equipment performance.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and engineering best practice.
