Alecto Recruitment is seeking a qualified Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a CHP energy centre operations team in Woking. You will operate and maintain mechanical plant across CHP units and district energy networks, ensuring reliability and compliance.

The role is Monday–Friday, 40 hours, with overtime opportunities. Applicants should hold City & Guilds/NVQ in mechanical engineering; CHP or generator experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Qualified and experienced mechanical maintenance engineer with City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent.
• Desirable CHP or generator experience.
• Experience maintaining pumps, pipework, motors, valves and belts.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mechanical plant within CHP energy centres and district energy networks.
• Service, diagnose faults and repair mechanical plant, incl. internal combustion engines and diesel generators.

Salary £40k-£44k (Employed) + Overtime (OTE £47k-£49k) + Benefits

Location - Woking, Surrey Based

We currently have a superb opportunity for an experienced Operations and Maintenance Engineer to join one of our clients who are a leading provider of services to the CHP (Combined Heat and Power), Power Generation and District Energy sector.

Job Summary

Site based in Woking

• Your main responsibility will be to operate and maintain mechanical plant and associated equipment within CHP energy centres and district energy networks
• Service, diagnose faults and repair a wide range of mechanical plant with particular emphasis on internal combustion engines, diesel generators, and CHP units

Fully Employed - Monday to Friday - 40hrs - 7:30am-4pm as standard

What We Are Looking For

• Qualified and experienced mechanical maintenance engineer, holding relevant mechanical qualifications to City & Guilds or NVQ standard, relevant apprenticeship / qualification in mechanical engineering
• Desirable but not essential - CHP (combined heat & power) or generator experience
• Ideally experience in maintenance & repair of things like commercial pumps, pipework, motors, valves, belts, conveyors etc
• Building Services / Mechanical / FM background considered
• Ex Royal Navy / Marine Engineering type backgrounds also considered
