Job summary

Ibstock Plc is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to perform mechanical maintenance and repair on heavy machinery at our Bradford-area facility. You will install, fabricate parts, and apply CI tools to optimise performance while upholding rigorous safety standards.

The role requires an Advanced Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, Pneumatics/Hydraulics knowledge, and welding/fabrication abilities, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Time Served, Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance (Mechanical) or equivalent.
• Maintenance experience and fault diagnosis of Pneumatics and Hydraulics systems.
• Knowledge of Welding / Basic Fabrication.
• Computer literate in MS Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of basic continuous improvement tools and techniques.
• Good knowledge of current Health and Safety Law and best practice in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Promote the highest Health and Safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.
• Carry out mechanical maintenance and repairs to existing heavy machinery, potentially installing new plant, designing and fabricating parts/structures.
• Ensure rigorous application of continuous improvement tools and techniques across all areas of the manufacturing facility to optimise performance.
• Work collaboratively across all support functions, by building effective working relationships, to optimise factory performance.
