Job summary

Premier Placement Services is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a manufacturing site in Congleton, Cheshire. You will work with a small engineering team to keep production lines running safely and efficiently.

The role focuses on planned and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and improvements to equipment reliability. A strong safety mindset and good teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 3 years' maintenance/engineering/manufacturing experience.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventive maintenance across production machinery and site facilities.
• Responding to breakdowns, diagnosing faults and supporting repairs.
• Assisting with machine installations, modifications and improvement projects.
• Working with production teams to minimise downtime and maximise performance.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and ensuring high workmanship standards.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability.
• Following health, safety, quality and environmental procedures.
