Mechanical Engineer Job Description

Position: 1x Mechanical Engineer

Working Days: Monday to Friday

Salary: Up to £45,000

Callouts: 1 in 6, £100 standby, minimum 4 hours

Responsibilities:

1. Perform general PPMs on HVAC systems, plumbing, and related equipment.
2. Carry out reactive and emergency breakdown tasks, completing all necessary paperwork.
3. Participate in a call-out rota to provide out-of-hours cover for the client.
4. Oversee visiting subcontractors regarding work standards and health & safety compliance.
5. Assist with duties across other properties within the portfolio as needed.
6. Complete work in accordance with company policies, ensuring safety and proper documentation.
7. Daily maintenance tasks include UPS systems, plumbing, drainage, boiler room checks, cooling towers, fan coil units, AHUs, fans, and heating pumps.

Requirements:

1. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, or Plumbing with Level 3 qualification.
2. Experience in a commercial facilities environment.
3. City & Guilds/NVQ in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
4. Ability to pass a DBS check.
5. Good building services knowledge and ability to work in a team.
