Job summary

Pennine Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for our client in Sheffield. The role is temporary ongoing and full time.

Starting salary is £18 per hour, with a 9am–5:30pm Monday to Friday schedule, plus some flexibility to work weekends and shifts. You will maintain, install, repair production machinery and lines, and have mechanical qualifications and basic electrical knowledge.

Qualifications

• Mechanical qualification required (HNC/BTEC or equivalent).
• Proven maintenance experience in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Basic electrical knowledge is a plus.
• FLT licence is required.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Awareness of health and safety in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Installing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery, equipment, and systems to maximise uptime and safety
• Upkeep of maintenance plans, policies and procedures
• Conducting regular quality checks on plant equipment to minimise downtime
• Reactive maintenance when equipment breaks down
• Keeping records of preventive and emergency maintenance
• Ensuring safety regulations are followed during maintenance; report safety concerns or defective equipment
• Ensure tools and equipment comply with regulations and are ready for use
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping

The role will involve maintaining, installing and repairing production machinery and lines.

Mechanical qualification and experience required as well as some basic electrical knowledge.

Essential Skills and qualifications:

• Mechanical- HNC, Btec etc
• Proven experience of maintenance engineering within an industrial/ manufacturing environment
• Current FLT Licence
• Understanding of mechanical systems and ability to read drawings
• Awareness of health and safety within a manufacturing environment
• Basic Welding and Fabrication skills

Duties-

• Responsible for installing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery, equipment, and systems to ensure maximum uptime and safety
• Upkeep of the maintenance plan, policies and procedures
• Conducting frequent quality checks on plant equipment to ensure maintenance is kept to a minimum
• Undertaking reactive maintenance when equipment breaks down
• Keeping a record of preventive and emergency maintenance
• Ensuring the organisation complies with safety regulations while maintenance takes place Inform management of any safety concerns or defective equipment.
• Ensure that the tools and equipment comply with all relevant regulations and is readily available for use.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping
