Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Cardiff

Shift Pattern: 3 shifts

Yolk Recruitment is actively working with a world-leading manufacturer based on the outskirts of Cardiff, experiencing exponential growth with large investments planned for 2025/2026. They are seeking to employ an additional Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their established team.

As part of a collaborative and skilled team, you'll play a key role in driving operational excellence and contributing to the company's success.

Role Responsibilities:

• Maintaining and repairing equipment according to schedules and specifications to ensure reliability and minimize breakdowns. Testing, fault finding, and repairing equipment.
• Identifying recurring issues and implementing corrective actions through root cause analysis.
• Performing planned and reactive maintenance on electrical systems and automated robotic equipment.
• Completing machine installation and commissioning.
• Replacing spindles and performing detailed mechanical repairs on 4/5 axis equipment.
• Maintaining tools and repair equipment to ensure they are fit for purpose.
• Supporting continuous improvement activities on site.

Required Experience:

• Apprentice-trained Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of HNC in engineering or Level 3 qualification.
• Proactive approach with at least 2 years' experience working in an automated manufacturing environment on 4 & 5 axis machinery.
