Southern Maintenance Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical Heating Engineer to join our Building Services team. You will work on commercial mechanical heating systems, maintain plant room equipment, and upgrade heating systems across diverse sites including commercial, education, healthcare, and public sector facilities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience maintaining commercial mechanical heating systems.
• Excellent mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Experience within Building Services or Facilities Management.
• Good understanding of commercial plant rooms and mechanical services.
• Experience working with pumps, valves, pressurisation equipment and heating controls.
• Electrical fault-finding knowledge advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Professional attitude and pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.
• Strong practical engineering experience.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong health & safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, maintain and repair mechanical heating systems.
• Work on commercial gas boilers, pumps and pump sets.
• Maintain expansion vessels, motorised valves and pipework.
• Manage heating controls and associated plant.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fault repairs.

Southern Maintenance Solutions Ltd are looking for an experienced Mechanical Heating Engineer to join our growing Building Services team.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working on commercial mechanical heating systems rather than simply servicing boilers. You'll be involved in maintaining, fault finding, repairing and upgrading plant room equipment, heating systems and associated mechanical services across a wide variety of commercial buildings across commercial, education, healthcare, retail and public sector sites,

You'll take responsibility for delivering high-quality planned maintenance and reactive works whilst ensuring our customers' heating systems remain safe, efficient and fully operational.

We're looking for somebody with previous experience working as a Mechanical Heating Engineer, Commercial Mechanical Engineer or Building Services Engineer. You'll enjoy working independently, solving technical problems and delivering first-class workmanship whilst maintaining the highest standards of health and safety.

Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Area of work – M4 Corridor and surrounding areas

Responsibilities

You'll be responsible for installing, servicing, maintaining and repairing:

• Mechanical heating systems
• Commercial gas boilers
• Pumps and pump sets
• Expansion vessels
• Motorised valves
• Pipework and mechanical distribution systems
• Heating controls and associated plant
• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
• Reactive breakdowns, fault finding and remedial works

Requirements

As a Mechanical Heating Engineer, we're looking for someone with:

• Proven experience maintaining commercial mechanical heating systems
• Excellent mechanical fault-finding skills
• Experience working within Building Services or Facilities Management
• Good understanding of commercial plant rooms and mechanical services
• Experience working with pumps, valves, pressurisation equipment and heating controls
