Job summary

Edwards Vacuum in Bristol offers a two-year Graduate Programme with rotations across mechanical engineering to broaden your experience and build technical and professional skills. You will learn from experienced colleagues, take on real responsibilities and contribute to meaningful projects as you develop confidence for your career.

The role involves designing and documenting mechanical systems, producing CAD parts, supporting tests and troubleshooting, and aiming for professional registration

Qualifications

• Minimum 2:1 bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with collaborative approach to challenges.
• Ambition to progress towards professional registration.

Responsibilities

• Complete structured placements across mechanical engineering functions during the two-year programme.
• Support design, development, testing and continuous improvement of mechanical systems.
• Contribute to live engineering projects applying mechanical principles.
• Produce and maintain drawings, bills of materials, and manufacturing-ready CAD models.
• Assist with system integration, verification, validation and troubleshooting.

Over the course of the programme, you will complete a series of rotations designed to give you broad exposure to the business, build your professional and technical skills, and help you discover where your strengths can make the greatest impact. You will learn from experienced colleagues, take on real responsibilities and contribute to meaningful projects, all while receiving the support and development you need to build your confidence and shape the start of your career.

Main Responsibilities –

• Completeaseriesofstructuredplacementsacrossmechanicalengineeringfunctionsoveratwo-yeargraduateprogramme.
• Supportthedesign, development, testing, andcontinuousimprovementofmechanicalsystemsusedwithinsemiconductormanufacturingequipment.
• Contributeto live engineeringprojects,applyingmechanicalprinciplestosolvetechnicalandoperationalchallenges.
• Produceandmaintaindrawings,billsofmaterials, andassociatedengineeringdocumentation.Creat accurate 3D parts and assemblies in CAD, applying correct constraints and ensuring designs are ready for manufacture.
• Assistwithsystemintegration,verification,validation, andtroubleshootingactivities.
• Supportrootcauseinvestigationsandtheimplementationofcorrectiveactions.
