Job summary

Edwards Vacuum is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer - NPI in Bristol for a hybrid role. You will drive design solutions within a multi-discipline team, delivering module/sub-assemblies under the PCP framework and ensuring quality, cost and timely delivery.

You will verify designs via calculations and tests, maintain thorough design documentation, and report to senior engineers and the project manager. Strong CAD skills and P&ID understanding are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering degree (or equivalent) with 2 years' industry experience.
• Product development and introductions experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge of design for manufacture and design for assembly.
• Experience with multiple manufacturing methods and materials.
• 3D/2D CAD skills (CATIA, Visio, AutoCAD or equivalent).
• Understanding of P&IDs and system schematics.
• Results oriented with delivery to milestones and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop modules/sub-assemblies of new products per PCP.
• Verify designs meet requirements by calculation and testing as appropriate.
• Accountable for design and development of sub-assemblies ensuring quality and cost targets.
• Document design data, BOM, test data; record information per TC F requirements.

Your role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer - NPI, reporting to a Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for the execution of design solutions within a multi-discipline engineering team, supporting product development at Product Company, Clevedon

You will

• To design and develop modules/sub-assemblies of new products in accordance with Edwards’ Product Commercialisation Process (PCP)
• To verify that the designs meet the requirements and conform to the relevant design standards by calculation and/or testing as appropriate
• Accountable for the design and development of sub-assemblies of a product ensuring the specified quality and cost are achieved to the agreed task time scale
• Accountable for the detailed documentation of the design (models, drawings, design data, BOM, test data) ensuring all relevant information is recorded in a timely manner in accordance with TCF requirements

• A good Electrically biased engineering degree (or other relevant engineering qualification with 2 years industry experience)
• Experience in product development and introductions is an advantage
• Knowledge of design for manufacture and design for assembly
• Experience in the use of a range of engineering materials and with several manufacturing methods/techniques
• 3D and 2D CAD skills (CATIA, Visio, AutoCAD and/or other drafting tools)
• An understanding of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and system schematics
• Results Orientation - focus on delivering to project milestones and timescales
• Positive attitude and ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
• Understand key technical deliverables and requirements and can report concisely to more senior engineers and the project manager

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site in Bristol, United Kingdom (GB).
