Job summary

FLSmidth is hiring Mechanical Fitters and Boilermakers for Site Services across mine sites. You will deliver high-quality maintenance, repairs and shutdown services, performing inspections, diagnostics and timely interventions on OEM equipment.

Successful candidates bring trades qualifications, mining or heavy industry experience, and a safety-first approach. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to mine sites are required.

Qualifications

• Recognised trade qualification as Mechanical Fitter or Boilermaker.
• Experience with fixed plant equipment in mining or heavy industrial environments.
• Strong maintenance, fabrication, welding or repair skills.
• Commitment to safe work practices and quality workmanship.
• Ability to identify issues and deliver practical solutions.
• Collaborative attitude with strong communication and customer service skills.
• Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to mine sites.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test and assess OEM equipment and perform maintenance, servicing and repairs.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to minimise downtime.
• Support shutdowns, overhauls and component replacements.
• Fabrication, welding and structural repairs on mining equipment and fixed plant.
• Implement modifications and repairs per technical specifications and safety standards.
• Collaborate with site teams and customers to deliver quality outcomes.
• Maintain high safety, workmanship and operational efficiency.

The Opportunity

As part of our Site Services team, you'll play a key role in supporting our customers across mine sites, delivering high-quality maintenance, repairs and shutdown services.

Depending on your trade, your responsibilities may include:

Mechanical Fitters

• Conduct inspections, testing and performance assessments of OEM equipment.
• Perform planned and unplanned mechanical maintenance, servicing and repairs.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise equipment downtime.
• Support shutdown activities, equipment overhauls and component replacements.

Boilermakers

• Undertake fabrication, welding and structural repairs on mining equipment and components.
• Perform inspections, maintenance and repairs on fixed plant equipment.
• Carry out modifications and repairs in accordance with technical specifications and safety standards.
• Support shutdown activities, including the repair and refurbishment of equipment and structures.

Across Both Trades

• Work collaboratively with site teams and customers to deliver quality outcomes.
• Maintain high standards of safety, workmanship and operational efficiency.
• Contribute to a positive, supportive and safety-focused team environment.

• Trade Qualifications: Recognised trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Boilermaker.
