Job summary

Tradebe Environmental Services is hiring a Mechanical Fitter for our Heysham site. You will perform day-to-day maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic plant, ensuring safe, compliant operations and supporting production with timely repairs.

The role requires proven experience in mechanical maintenance of pumps, tanks and pipework, a CMMS-based maintenance approach, and a valid Forklift licence. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in mechanical maintenance on pumps, tanks and pipework.
• Experience in CMMS-based maintenance departments.
• Forklift Truck licence.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic plant and equipment on Heysham site.
• Ensure equipment is maintained to safe conditions and compliant with regulations.
• Provide engineering support to production areas and assist with workload demands.
• Complete work permits and ensure safe maintenance and repair works.
• Maintain good housekeeping and record-keeping of work carried out.
• Assist in installation and design of new equipment and processes.
• Comply with HSWA, IPPC, COSHH and other regulations.
• Contribute to department and site production objectives.
• Analyse data to resolve breakdowns or problems.
• Provide holiday/sickness cover and overtime as needed.

The role holder will perform the day-to-day maintenance tasks associated with the operation of the site, whilst maintaining the highest level of compliance to the company’s health and safety, environmental, procedural and statutory goals.

Principal Duties

• Responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic plant and equipment on Heysham site (as far as skills allow).
• Ensure that all equipment/plant worked on is maintained to a safe condition, compliant with any specific regulations and/or restrictions.
• To ensure that engineering skills are available to production areas for supporting ‘non-skilled’ personnel in engineering matters where appropriate.
• To assist as required in mechanical or other engineering tasks as the workload demands.
• Ensure all health, safety, and environmental regulations and conditions are adhered to.
• Completion of necessary work permits and associated systems to allow safe maintenance & repair works to be carried out.
• To maintain good housekeeping standards across the whole site.
• Provide engineering support and knowledge.
• Keep accurate written records of work carried out.
• Participate wherever possible in the installation and design of new equipment and processes.
• Work with and in compliance to written maintenance and operational procedures
• Carry out work in accordance with the restrictions set in HSWA, IPPC, COSHH, and any other relevant regulation or standard.
• Contribute to achieving the department’s and site’s production and performance objectives.
• Analyse and interpret data in order to resolve breakdowns or problems.
• Provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice.
• Be available for a reasonable amount of overtime including out of hours call outs to enable the company to meet its production needs

Do you have what it takes?

Essential Skills.

• The ability to demonstrate a proven track record in mechanical maintenance on Pumps, Tanks and Pipework.
• Have experience of working within a CMMS run maintenance department.
• Hold a Fork Lift Truck licence.
