Job summary

Latitude Recruitment is helping a Portsmouth-based client hire three experienced Mechanical Fitters for a 3-month contract. The role involves hands-on fitting, assembly and finishing of components in a manufacturing workshop, with duties from drilling to inspecting against drawings.

You will work from technical drawings, use hand and power tools safely, and follow work instructions. Marine/boatbuilding experience is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mechanical fitting, fabrication or assembly experience.
• Able to read technical drawings and work instructions.
• Confident using hand and power tools.
• Marine/boatbuilding or similar manufacturing experience highly desirable.

Our Portsmouth-based client is currently looking for x3 experienced Mechanical Fitters to join their team on a 3-month contract basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing local manufacturing business.

The job role will involve a wide range of hands-on duties such as:

• Fitting, assembling and finishing components.
• Installing and securing fittings and components.
• Drilling, cutting, shaping and preparing materials.
• Using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Following technical drawings, specifications and work instructions.
• General workshop fitting and assembly tasks.

Requirements:

• Previous hands-on mechanical fitting, fabrication or assembly experience.
• Confident using hand and power tools.
• Ability to work from technical drawings and instructions.
• Marine, boatbuilding, shipbuilding or similar manufacturing experience highly desirable.

Salary:

£20.00 per hour PAYE

Hours:

37.5 hours per week
