Morson Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter for ongoing work at Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth. The role involves installing and maintaining LP air pipework and onboard systems, plus fitting brackets and other equipment.

Candidates should have a Level 3 Mechanical Engineering/Fitting qualification or equivalent, marine/shipbuilding experience preferred, and be able to obtain full security clearance for Devonport. 37 hours/week, with overtime at enhanced rates.

Mechanical Fitter - Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth

We are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our client at Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth.

The role

• LP air pipework
• Installation and maintenance of various onboard pipework systems
• Installation of anchor brackets and associated equipment
• General mechanical fitting duties as required

What we’re looking for:

• Level 3 Mechanical Engineering/Fitting qualification or equivalent
• Previous marine or shipbuilding experience preferred
• Good experience working with pipework systems
• Ability to work safely and effectively onboard
• Must be able to obtain full security clearance for Devonport Dockyard

Pay

£19.80 per hour PAYE, time and a half for all hours worked over 37 hours per week.

37 std hours per week - 07:30 - 16:00 Monday to Thursday, 07:30 - 12:30 on a Friday.

Full SC clearance is a requirement for this role, able to start with BS clearance initially whilst SC clearance is underway.
