Job summary

Catering in Leicester is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer / Fitter for a full-time, permanent role. You will repair and refurbish used machinery in a small team, measuring in imperial and metric, fitting motors and safety switches, and preparing machines for delivery. Occasional UK and European travel is required.

Salary ranges from £30,000 to £35,000 per annum, with 8:00–16:30 hours, 25 days’ holiday plus statutory, plus pension contributions, private health care, and death in service.

Qualifications

• Experienced in mechanical engineering.
• Must be able to measure in both imperial and metric using rules, vernier caliper and micrometres.
• Must be able to mark out, drill and tap, and be competent in the use of power tools and lathes.
• Be able to perform simple Milling and Turning tasks.
• Have basic knowledge of electrics and motors 3 Phase.
• Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• In house repair and refurbishment of machines.
• Fitting motors and safety switches.
• Rebuilding of mechanical sub-assemblies.
• Assisting in machine demonstration area.
• Cleaning and polishing machines.
• Prepare new machines for delivery to customers.
• Occasional UK and European travel.
