We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join a successful machinery manufacturing business based in Wellingborough. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company that designs and builds high-precision slitting machines for the converting industry, with opportunities to get involved in installations both in the UK and internationally.
Location: Wellingborough
Shift: Monday-Friday (Full Time)
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 (depending on experience) + Bonus
Duties:
* Assemble and fit a range of machine units including bearings, seals, pulleys, pneumatics, hydraulics, servo motors and more
* Read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings and schematics
* Install hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication systems
* Operate workshop equipment (drills, grinders, etc.)
* Conduct machine testing prior to shipment
* Carry out UK and international installations, upgrades, and repairs
* Inspect parts using precision tools and assist in preparing spare parts
* Collaborate with build and engineering teams to solve issues and drive improvements
* Participate in project planning and continuous improvement activities
The ideal candidate must:
* Have solid mechanical fitting or machine-building experience
* Hold a valid UK driving licence and passport for occasional travel
* Be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
* Have good communication and problem-solving skills
* Electrical knowledge and/or forklift licence would be an advantage (training provided if needed)
