Are you a skilled Mechanical Fitter looking for your next challenge? Do you enjoy hands-on mechanical assembly work, problem-solving, and being part of a close-knit engineering team? If so, we want to hear from you!

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join a successful machinery manufacturing business based in Wellingborough. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company that designs and builds high-precision slitting machines for the converting industry, with opportunities to get involved in installations both in the UK and internationally.

Location: Wellingborough
Shift: Monday-Friday (Full Time)
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 (depending on experience) + Bonus

Duties:

• Assemble and fit a range of machine units including bearings, seals, pulleys, pneumatics, hydraulics, servo motors and more




• Read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings and schematics




• Install hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication systems




• Operate workshop equipment (drills, grinders, etc.)




• Conduct machine testing prior to shipment




• Carry out UK and international installations, upgrades, and repairs




• Inspect parts using precision tools and assist in preparing spare parts




• Collaborate with build and engineering teams to solve issues and drive improvements




• Participate in project planning and continuous improvement activities

The ideal candidate must:

• Have solid mechanical fitting or machine-building experience




• Hold a valid UK driving licence and passport for occasional travel




• Be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision




• Have good communication and problem-solving skills




• Electrical knowledge and/or forklift licence would be an advantage (training provided if needed)
