Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL seeks a Mechanical Fitter for a heavy industrial manufacturing site in the Greater Morecambe area. The role involves hands-on maintenance of large-scale machinery, fabrication, welding, and upkeep of hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems.

You will work in a varied, practical engineering environment on both repairs and improvements, with a 4-on/4-off days pattern and a salary up to £40k per year. 25 days leave and tool allowances are provided.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification (NVQ or equivalent).
• Mechanical fitting or maintenance experience.
• Hands-on bench work experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical maintenance on large-scale production machinery and associated plant.
• Fabricate and weld components as required and support plant improvements.
• Inspect and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic and steam systems to ensure safe operation.
• Support equipment start-ups and participate in planned and reactive maintenance.

Job Role of the Mechanical Fitter

A well-established industrial manufacturer in the Greater Morecambe area is looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join its engineering team. This is a varied, hands-on role working across large-scale production machinery and auxiliary plant, carrying out mechanical maintenance, fault finding and workshop-based repairs.

You'll be involved in fabrication, welding and bench fitting, alongside maintaining hydraulic, pneumatic and steam systems. The role also offers opportunities to support equipment start-ups and plant improvements, making it ideal for a mechanically skilled engineer who enjoys practical, varied engineering work.
