Job summary

Morson Edge in the United Kingdom is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to maintain and repair plant and hydraulic systems across sites. The role demands hands-on experience with heavy industry equipment and an active, proactive approach.

Candidates should hold a Level 3 NVQ in Mechanical Engineering (HNC or apprenticeship preferred), with knowledge of diagnostics and hydraulic repair. Reading technical drawings is essential; BPSS clearance is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years around heavy industry.
• Must have Level 3 NVQ in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; HNC/Apprenticeship preferred.
• Experience with diagnostics and repair of hydraulic systems.
• Some understanding of electrical systems and safe isolations.
• Able to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Experience on cranes and heavy plant is a plus.
• MEWPS NPORS or equivalent advantageous.
• Must provide own tools; OEM tools provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair plant and hydraulic systems.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Work with crane/heavy plant equipment as required.
• Ensure safe isolations and compliance with BPSS requirements.

Our World leading client has opportunities available for self-motivated Mechanical Fitters, ideally with experience of maintaining and repairing plant and hydraulic systems.

Requirements:

• Min 5 years exp working around heavy industry.
• Min Level 3 NVQ or similar in Mechanical engineering discipline (preferred HNC / Apprenticeship).
• Proven experience of working with (diagnostics and repair of) hydraulic systems.
• Some understanding of electrical systems and safe isolations.
• Able to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Ideally have recent experience of working on cranes and / or heavy plant.
• MEWPS License NPORS or equivalent would be advantageous.
• Must provide their own tools – specialist OEM tools will be provided.
• Full UK driving license.

Applicants must be able to pass a police check and obtain BPSS security clearance (so will need to be UK / EU nationals).
