Job summary

Permanent Futures Limited is seeking an experienced Hydraulics Fitter to join our engineering and manufacturing team. You will assemble, service, diagnose, and repair hydraulic components across a range of industrial equipment, ensuring high standards and safety compliance.

You will read schematics, interpret drawings, test performance, and collaborate with engineering and production to meet project deadlines. Field-based work may be required from time to time.

Qualifications

• Experience with hydraulic systems and components.
• Ability to read hydraulic schematics and drawings.
• Hands-on assembly, servicing, diagnosing and repairing hydraulic equipment.
• Perform pressure and performance testing on hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, maintain and repair hydraulic systems and components.
• Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, drawings and manuals.
• Diagnose faults and perform effective repairs.
• Build hoses, cylinders, pumps, valves and power units.
• Conduct pressure and performance testing of equipment.
• Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Ensure work meets health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet deadlines.
• Maintain service and maintenance records.
• Support site installations and occasional field service.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, maintain, and repair hydraulic systems and components.
• Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, engineering drawings, and technical manuals.
• Diagnose hydraulic faults and carry out effective repairs and troubleshooting.
• Build hydraulic hoses, cylinders, pumps, valves, and power units.
• Carry out pressure testing and performance testing of hydraulic equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance activities.
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health & safety regulations.
• Work collaboratively with engineering and production teams to meet project deadlines.
• Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
