Job summary

TXM Recruit is recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Assembler near Tewkesbury for a long-term contract. The role covers workshop-based fitting, assembly and fabrication with strong overtime earning potential.

The candidate will read technical drawings, use hand and power tools, and ensure quality workmanship in a clean, modern workshop environment. Immediate starts are available for suitable applicants with practical mechanical experience.

Qualifications

• Previous practical experience in mechanical fitting, assembly, fabrication or a similar environment
• Experience using hand tools and power tools
• The ability to read and work from technical drawings
• Good attention to detail and quality
• A reliable, hardworking approach
• Good practical and mechanical aptitude
• The ability to work safely and efficiently in a workshop environment

Responsibilities

• Mechanical fitting, assembly and fabrication of industrial products
• Building and assembling mechanical components and finished products
• Using a variety of hand tools and power tools
• Reading and working from technical drawings
• Following assembly instructions and engineering specifications
• Carrying out general mechanical workshop duties
• Checking completed work for quality and accuracy
• Working safely and maintaining high standards of workmanship
