Job Description

Position: Mechanical Fitter

Location: Witney

Type of work: Permanent

Salary: £33,000 to £35,000 per annum

Benefits: 31 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays, pension scheme 5% & 3%, overtime after 40 hours at time and a half, monthly performance-based bonus

Responsibilities:

1. Complete engineering duties for sub-assembly production fitting and final assembly.
2. Assemble mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic components and sub-assemblies as required.
3. Assist with the production and build of fabricated assemblies of varying size and complexity from scratch, including marking out, cutting, folding, pipe bending, weld joint preparation, hydraulic and pneumatic runs, and general production build assemblies.

Skills/Experience/Qualifications Required:

• Solid engineering background.
• Experience working from manufacturing, general arrangement, and sub-assembly drawings.
• Attention to detail and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools for assembling fabricated components.
• Ability to check assembly for alignment, dimensions, and quality.
• Experience in vehicle fabricating/fitting is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently, with problem-solving skills and a logical approach.
• Circuitry knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrics.
• Background in aviation, military, marine, agricultural, or similar fields is advantageous.
