We at Work Lyf Group are recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join our client's Maintenance Team, based in Stoke-on-Trent.

Salary for Mechanical Fitter: £27,948

As a Mechanical Fitter, you'll be responsible for maintaining, overhauling, and refurbishing rolling stock in accordance with the relevant regime and specifications.

This position is for permanent day shifts, (7:00 - 16:30), working Monday to Thursday.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, overhaul, and refurbish rolling stock according to the regime and specifications.
• Fault finding, rectification work, damage repairs, modifications, and related tasks.
• Manage stock levels and ensure proper storage.
• Order and reorder stock as needed.
• Conduct damage reports and overload inspections, providing documentation and photographs.
• Complete all documentation related to work on rolling stock vehicles.
• Properly file and store all related documentation.
• May be required to work at other depots.

Hours

36 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, with opportunities for overtime.

Qualifications

• Proactive approach and good organizational skills.
• Experience in maintenance sector.
• Qualifications in an engineering discipline are advantageous.
• Rail industry experience is a plus.
