Job summary

Active (Pathways) Solutions Ltd is seeking a hardworking Mechanical Fitter to work on a substation project in Sanquhar, DG4. The role runs Monday to Friday with 45–50 hours per week and offers a competitive pay structure including enhanced weekend rates and travel allowances.

Typical duties include mechanical fixing, installation, reading drawings, and coordinating with site teams while maintaining safety on site. Candidates should have CSCS, substations experience, and strong safety awareness.

Qualifications

• CSCS card is essential.
• IPAF/NPORS certification is desirable.

• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out mechanical fixing and installation work on site.

• Using hand and power tools safely and effectively.

Mechanical Fitter - Sanquhar

Active (Pathways) Solutions is looking for a hardworking, experienced Mechanical Fitter to work on substation project in Sanquhar, DG4.

Monday - Friday, 45/50 hours per week.

Role: Mechanical Fitter

Location: Sanquhar DG4.

Duration: Until November

Pay rate:

• £30.00 per hour
• £45 per hour Saturday and Sunday
• £50 dig allowance if over 50 miles.

Payment: LTD or CIS

Must have previous experience working on substations would be ideal.

• Carrying out mechanical fixing and installation work on site

Skills and attributes (desirable)

We are looking for someone who is an excellent team worker and familiar with construction industry safety standards and procedures. You must be able to follow written and spoken instructions and be capable of working with minimal oversight while following directions closely.

• Valid CSCS card
• IPAF and/or NPORS certification would be desirable
• Previous experience as a Mechanical Fixer
• Experience working on substations would be highly desirable
• Good understanding of construction site health and safety
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking
• Flexibility to work across different locations in Scotland

About you

You must have relevant mechanical fixing experience and be able to provide references. You must hold the relevant site qualifications and have a good understanding of construction health and safety procedures.
