Job summary

Tradebe in the UK is seeking a maintenance technician to carry out approved PPM tasks, maintain accurate records, and help keep the site running smoothly.

You will work closely with the Maintenance Manager to anticipate issues ahead of planned shutdowns, identify defects, reorder spares, and ensure safety and tidiness across the plant. The role offers a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic and competent problem solver with a practical approach to engineering problems.
• PC literate and capable of learning new software systems.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Tidy and methodical approach to problems.
• Recognised Mechanical apprenticeship or similar.
• Work with different types of pumps.

Responsibilities

• Carry out and record all PPM activities per procedures.
• Maintain site maintenance records with detail.
• Proactively identify issues and inform Maintenance Manager for contingencies.
• Identify plant and site defects and report daily.
• Inform Shift Manager of health and safety breaches and safe reset.
• Ensure spares are reordered before stock runs out and inform Maintenance Admin.
• Keep plant areas safe and tidy; leave area in safe state after work.
• Liaise with Maintenance Manager on maintenance issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that all PPM activities are carried out and recorded in line with company procedures that are currently in place.
• Keep and maintain all maintenance records for the site ensuring that all relevant documentation is completed and filed with attention to detail.
• Take a positive approach to issues that may occur on the plant and detail this to the Maintenance Manager, so that plans can be made in advance of a planned shut-down to remedy the problem.
• Have a proactive approach in identifying problems that may occur and propose solutions to rectify these issues before they affect the running of the process and site.
• Identify defects on all aspects of the plant and site and report on a daily basis to the Maintenance Manager.
• Inform the Shift Manager of any breach of health and safety around the plant and make safe again if possible.
• Ensure that all maintenance spares are replenished before stock runs out; this can be done by informing the Maintenance Admin that these items need re-ordering.
• Ensure that all areas of the plant are kept in a safe manner whilst working and that the area is left in a safe state and tidy afterwards.
• Liaise at all times with the Maintenance Manager regarding maintenance issues.
