Job summary

KPJ Group in Chorley is seeking a Machine Build Fitter to join our bespoke engineering and manufacturing team. The role involves supporting machine build, fitting, maintenance and site-based engineering work.

The position offers a rate of £19.86 per hour with Mon–Thu 7:30am–4pm and Fri 7:30am–12:30pm, plus overtime at 1.5x. Weekly pay, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, and a range of staff benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Previous mechanical fitting or machine build experience.
• Basic fault-finding ability.
• Flexible, hands-on approach to engineering work.
• Willingness to support site-based work when required.

Responsibilities

• Support machine build and mechanical fitting work.
• Carry out general maintenance fitting duties.
• Work on mainly mechanical and some electrical tasks.
• Mark out work areas and keep them clean.
• Polishing, grinding and fettling components.
• Use manual milling equipment when required.
• Carry out precision fitting work.
• Support basic fault finding.
• Change sockets and assist with simple electrical tasks.
• Work on site when required, including travel to customer locations.
• Supporting machinery resets and roller adjustments.
