Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to assemble, strip and maintain small gas turbine components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will use hand tools, power tools and precision measuring equipment, while safely operating lifting gear and recording build data.

Role emphasizes quality, safety, and continuous improvement. A Level 3 apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in mechanical engineering with relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Assemble, strip and reuse small gas turbine components according to engineering specs.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment with high accuracy.
  • Safely operate lifting equipment and fixtures while recording build data.
  • Uphold quality and safety standards and maintain a tidy 5S workspace.
  • Identify process improvements and collaborate with supporting departments to improve efficiency.

  • Utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment with high accuracy to perform mechanical fitting tasks on rotating equipment.
  • Safely operate lifting equipment and fixtures to move components during assembly while recording build figures and production data.
  • Uphold strict quality and safety standards, ensuring regulatory compliance and a clean workspace using 5S.
  • Completion of Level 3 apprenticeship in a relevant mechanical engineering discipline.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent technical certificate in mechanical engineering, with industry experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in a mechanical fitting role, preferably with rotating equipment.
  • Proficiency in mechanical fitting, measuring equipment, and hand/power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, teamwork and problem-solving with adherence to safety protocols.
