Job summary

moveatech Limited is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Fitter for a contract role across the UK, servicing and maintaining mechanical process equipment in the wastewater sector. You will work at operational treatment sites, performing installation, routine servicing, preventative maintenance and remedial works.

You will read drawings, follow RAMS, and competently use hand and power tools while traveling to customer sites and potentially working away from home for stretches.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mechanical fitting experience in an industrial setting.
• Willing to travel UK-wide and stay away from home as required.
• Full UK Driving Licence and CSCS Card are essential.
• Confined Space certification and medical/vaccination requirements are met.

Responsibilities

• Install and assemble mechanical equipment.
• Provide planned servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Carry out reactive maintenance and remedial works.
• Remove and replace mechanical components as required.
• Dismantle and reassemble equipment for inspection/servicing.
• Work with motors, chains, sprockets, seals and related parts.
• Drill, cut, grind and fit components using hand/power tools.
• Work from drawings, RAMS and instruction sheets.
• Operate safely around live plant and confined spaces when trained.

Mechanical Fitter – Contract

Are you a hands-on Mechanical Fitter with experience in industrial equipment? We are looking for a contract Mechanical Fitter to carry out installation, servicing, maintenance and remedial works on mechanical process equipment, predominantly within the wastewater industry. You will work at operational treatment sites across the UK.

What you’ll be doing

• Mechanical installation and assembly of equipment.
• Planned servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Reactive maintenance and remedial works.
• Removal and replacement of mechanical components.
• Dismantling and reassembly of equipment for inspection, repair or servicing.
• Working with motors, chains, sprockets, seals and other mechanical components.
• Drilling, cutting, grinding and general mechanical fitting.
• Safe and competent use of hand and power tools.
• Identifying mechanical defects and assisting with fault finding.
• Working from drawings, instructions and RAMS.
• Working around existing operational plant and equipment.
• Confined space working where required and appropriately trained.
• General site set-up, housekeeping and packing down on completion of works.

Travel and working away

The role involves regular travel to customer sites across the UK and working away from home, potentially for several nights at a time.

What you’ll bring

You will bring hands-on mechanical fitting experience, ideally gained within the water or wastewater sector. A strong industrial mechanical background will also be considered.
