Job summary

New Appointments Group is partnering with a well-established engineering business in London to recruit a Mechanical Fitter on a permanent, full-time basis. The role is hands-on, focusing on strip-down, inspection and rebuild of industrial equipment.

You will work on blower vacuum pumps, rotary valves, pumps, gearboxes and pneumatic systems, ensuring repairs and refurbishments meet high quality standards. On-site, Monday to Friday, with an early finish on Friday.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship or vocational training qualification.
• Experience working with machine tools and/or mechanical assemblies.
• Working knowledge of health and safety protocols in an engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Disassembly, assessment and reassembly for repair of blower vacuum pumps and rotary valves.
• Making accurate measurement readings, replacing key components and reassembling products using notes taken during initial inspection.
• Mechanical fitting, servicing and refurbishment of pumps, gearboxes and pneumatic assemblies.
• Fault-finding and diagnosis of mechanical and pneumatic issues.
• Completing maintenance records and service reports accurately, both on paper and using a tablet.
• Ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently and in line with quality standards.
• Maintaining good housekeeping and following company safety procedures.
