Job summary

Mitie Group plc. in Seascale, Cumbria, is looking for a Mechanical Fitter to deliver all PPM and reactive maintenance on steam systems, following SFG-20 guidelines. The role operates on a 9-day fortnight schedule, with shifts from 07:15 to 16:15 (Fri 15:15).

You will train to become the site mechanical nominated person, report incidents and near misses, and coach team members to reach their full potential. Required: NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Maintenance and a Blue CSCS card, plus relevant

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Maintenance or equivalent.
• Experience in industrial/manufacturing/process/energy utilities nuclear or similar mechanical environments.
• Blue CSCS card or ability to obtain one.
• General knowledge of facilities services and operational practices.
• Understanding of nuclear site procedures and practices.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all PPM's and reactive works are delivered in a timely manner on a maintenance scheme in line with the SFG-20 on steam systems.
• To undertake training to become mechanical nominated for the site.
• To report all incidents, accidents and near misses including non-compliant or unsafe conditions at the earliest opportunity.
• To coach, mentor and develop team members to reach their full potential.

Required Qualifications:

• -Must have a demonstrable mechanical engineering/maintenance background gained within industrial, manufacturing, process, energy, utilities, nuclear, or similar mechanical environments.
• -Must have or be able to obtain a Blue CSCS card
• -Good general knowledge of facilities services and operational practices.
• -Sound understanding of nuclear site procedures and practices.
