Job summary

Sayjo Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Fitter for a chemical manufacturing site. The role is day shift only, 7am to 6pm, on a 3 days on/3 days off pattern which includes some weekends and bank holidays.

You will perform planned and unplanned maintenance on complex mechanical systems and collaborate with Production, Engineering and Project teams under the supervision of the Engineering Mechanical Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintaining complex mechanical systems in chemical or process manufacturing environments.
• Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.

Mechanical Fitter

Our client is a chemical manufacturing site; we are looking for a candidates with similar industrial site experience.

Able to work day shift only - 7am – 6pm, 3 days on, 3 days off, which will include some weekend and bank holiday working.

Job Purpose

To carry out assigned planned and unplanned mechanical maintenance work as part of a team on a day shift

In addition, at such times, the role will include the requirement to interface with the Production Department, Engineering Department and Project Teams as directed by the Engineering Mechanical Supervisor

Experience Required

We’re looking for a skilled and proactive mechanical fitter with a proven track record in maintaining complex mechanical systems within chemical or process manufacturing environments.

You will have Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification with a strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance practices, process safety procedures, and equipment isolation.

• Experience in carrying out maintenance activities (Mechanical), on Chemical, Petro-chemical production facilities.
• Experience in working in a functional environment (shared services or matrix organization)
• Experience in working with contracted service providers.
• Experience in interfacing with major original equipment manufacturer and vendor service providers.
• Experience in interfacing with project teams.
• Knowledge of Process Safety Management and production operations.
• Knowledge of Industry Standard Materials Specification (ASME/ANSI) and warehouse management systems
• Knowledge of Industry Standard CMMS and SCM systems. (SAP, ORACLE EAM).
• Good computer-based skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• A competent team player and communicator. Quick to adapt to new and innovative ideas.
• Ability to provide coaching to junior operations maintenance personnel in line with company training and development plan.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that all assigned mechanical maintenance routine, corrective and breakdown maintenance activity plans are carried out as prescribed in compliance with the company permit to work system and procedure, in order to minimize risk to personnel, the environment and company assets.
• Provide desired services to operating departments at optimal levels in line with departmental planning and scheduling strategies.
• Ensure inter-departmental interface in accordance with company operating standards and requirements. (Mechanical).
• Provide input and support in Competency Based Training for department staff as requested/required
• Assist the mechanical shift lead with day-to-day planning as required.
• Maintain active department involvement, interface and demonstrated commitment to all company HSE related initiatives and planned activities.

Salary & Benefits

Working 3 days on, 3 days off, 7am – 6pm, with two half hour paid breaks.

Basic Salary £39,355.88
