At Contek, we're proud to represent a client based in Dudley, specializing in reactive and planned mechanical engineering services across various industries including food, automotive, and nuclear sectors. As our representation expands, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Machine Shop and Fabrication Support Engineer.

The Fitter will provide support to the gearbox repair department by dismantling and assembling all types of industrial gearboxes, pumps, fans, blowers, and motors within industrial rotating equipment. They will also provide detailed inspection reports highlighting operational issues with the machines being assessed.

Working Hours

Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Main Duties

1. Participate in daily workshop activities related to quality, health & safety, and environmental standards.
2. Dismantle all types of gearboxes and produce concise, accurate reports for management.
3. Build, strip, and fit pumps, fans, blowers, and motors within industrial rotating equipment.
4. Assemble gearboxes accurately to ensure they are ready for installation.
5. Interpret engineering data and documentation such as drawings, technical data, and computer-generated programs.
6. Work independently, taking responsibility for the quality and accuracy of your work.
7. Proactively identify solutions to problems and areas for business improvement.
8. Ensure adherence to standard work practices and procedures.
9. Respond appropriately to emergency situations.
