Job summary

MKC Training is seeking a Maintenance Mechanical Fitter to join its prestigious training facility in Chatham, Kent. The role offers £36K rising to £38K after probation, with 37 hours per week (Mon–Fri) and permanent employment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test and repair mechanical machinery and equipment in training workshops, offices and classrooms.
• Read and interpret engineering diagrams and charts.
• Maintain safety and quality standards on site.

Job description

Unique opportunity for a Maintenance Mechanical Fitter to join a prestigious training facility in Chatham, Kent.

The Maintenance Mechanical Fitter will work on inspection, testing and repair of mechanical machinery and equipment used within the technical trade training workshops, offices and classrooms covered by MKC Training estates (including Brompton, Wainscott and Maidstone).

The Maintenance Mechanical Fitter will be hold relevant qualifications such as an Apprenticeship or training with C&G, NVQ or equivalent, and will work on a variety of equipment requiring the following skills:

• Machine turning
• Milling
• Bench fitting
• Welding and brazing
• Sheet metal work
• Petrol and diesel engines/generators
• Pumps and hydraulics
• Servicing of small and large machines.
• Able to read and interpret engineering diagrams and charts.
• Ability to work at height

Full UK driving license is required.
