Job description

Exciting role here at Tarmac: Mechanical Fitter working at our Tunstead Site.

This role is within the Cement Packing Plant and is suitable for someone with a proactive approach to maintenance, plant optimisation, and self-development.

Reporting to the Packing Plant Maintenance Engineer and being part of the maintenance team, the job holder will be responsible for executing preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and implementing plant improvements.

This position is a key part of the Packing Plant, working closely with operations personnel to ensure all KPIs are met daily, weekly, and annually.

The successful candidate will develop skills and knowledge of all plant equipment to improve plant performance.

• MRO supplier
• National packing network

Accountabilities

• Ensuring compliance with all CRH safety standards.
• Following contractor management processes for all contractual work.
• Maintaining and developing Risk Assessment/SSOW systems.
• Conducting periodic inspections and reporting findings.
• Executing maintenance work orders efficiently.
• Providing out-of-hours support as per call-out procedures.
• Responding promptly to breakdowns and fault finding.
• Using databases to locate and retrieve spares.
• Participating in site meetings.
• Driving continuous improvements to reduce costs.
• Building relationships with OEM suppliers and engineers.
• Assisting with annual shutdown planning and execution.
• Participating in root cause analysis for operational issues.
• Contributing to the maintenance budget delivery.
