Your new job role will be working for a public sector organisation based in Liverpool, dedicated to research and teaching in tropical medicine.
Your new role
Facilities Management
- Ensure the facility is well maintained and high standards of service are delivered by the in-house maintenance team and external contractors.
- Organise reactive maintenance and repair of HVAC, autoclaves, and specialist systems.
- Maintain and repair en-suite bathrooms, sinks, and plumbing facilities.
- Perform planned preventive maintenance, inspections, and testing of all facilities, plant, equipment, and systems.
- Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and staff, manage quotations, and obtain approval from the Estates Manager or Head of Operations.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including updating spreadsheets and managing the CAFM system.
Security and Fire Marshall
- Manage the door access system, issue and audit proximity cards, and maintain the database.
- Oversee security contractor and fire marshall training.
- Support fire safety duties, including risk assessments, audits, and training.
- Participate in emergency response team activities, including out-of-hours calls.
- Manage security protocols, including CCTV, intruder alarms, and access systems.
Cleaning, Decontamination, and Infection Control
- Monitor cleaning quality through audits and liaise with housekeeping.
- Organise specialist cleaning services, including laboratory and high-level cleaning.
- Manage the use of decontamination equipment, ensuring standards are met.
Inspection and Audit
- Support estate inspections and audits to improve facility conditions.
- Conduct quality checks and generate reports on work performed.
General Responsibilities
- Promote equality and inclusive practice.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including being on call for emergencies.
- Handle administrative duties, such as procurement and updating records.
- Support team supervision and development.
What you'll need to succeed
- Good numeracy and literacy skills.
- NEBOSH Certificate (General or Fire).
- Fire Warden training.
- Valid First Aid Certificate.
- Customer care training.
- SIA CCTV Licence.
- Fire risk assessor qualification.
- Mechanical HNC qualification.
