Your new company
Your new role will be working for a public sector organization based in Liverpool, dedicated to research and teaching in tropical medicine.

Your new role

• Ensuring the facility is well maintained and high standards of service are delivered by the in-house maintenance team and external contractors.
• Organizing reactive maintenance and repairs of HVAC, autoclaves, and other systems.
• Maintaining and repairing en-suite bathrooms, sinks, and plumbing facilities.
• Conducting planned preventive maintenance, inspections, and testing of facilities, equipment, and systems.
• Coordinating with suppliers, contractors, and staff, managing quotations, and obtaining approvals.
• Assisting with administrative tasks such as updating spreadsheets, managing space data, and analyzing helpdesk requests.

Security and Fire Marshall

• Managing the controlled door access system, issuing and auditing access cards, maintaining the database.
• Training and overseeing security contractors and fire marshalls.
• Supporting fire safety duties including risk assessments, audits, and training.
• Participating in emergency response and managing security protocols and systems.

Cleaning, Decontamination, and Infection Control

• Monitoring cleaning quality through audits and liaising with housekeeping.
• Organizing specialized cleaning services, including laboratory and decontamination cleaning.
• Managing the use of hydrogen peroxide vapour generators and ensuring high standards of cleaning and decontamination.

Inspection and Audit

• Supporting estate condition audits and inspections, identifying issues, and recommending solutions.
• Performing quality checks on work done by staff and contractors, generating reports.

General Responsibilities

• Promoting equality and inclusive practices.
• Performing additional duties as assigned, acting as an 'On Call' Engineer, supporting emergency situations.
• Managing administrative tasks such as purchase orders and spreadsheets.
• Supervising team members and contractors during absences of the Estates Manager.
• Engaging in personal development and training to maintain effective service delivery.

• NEBOSH Certificate - General or Fire.
• Fire Warden training.
• Valid First Aid Certificate.
• Customer care training.
• SIA Licence - CCTV.
• Fire risk assessor qualification.
