Your new company
Your new job role will be working for a public sector organisation based in Liverpool that is dedicated to research and teaching in tropical medicine.
Your new role
- Ensure the facility is well maintained and high standards of service are delivered by the in-house maintenance team and external contractors.
- Organise reactive maintenance and repairs of HVAC, autoclaves, and other specialist systems.
- Maintain and repair en-suite bathrooms, sinks, and plumbing facilities.
- Perform planned preventive maintenance, inspections, and testing of all facilities, plant, equipment, and systems within HCF.
- Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and staff, manage quotations, and obtain approvals from the Estates Manager/HCF Head of Operations.
- Assist with administrative tasks like updating spreadsheets, managing space information on CAFM, and analyzing helpdesk requests.
Security and Fire Marshall
- Manage the operation and maintenance of door access systems, audit access cards, and update the database.
- Oversee security contractor and fire marshall training.
- Support the Fire Officer duties, including risk assessments, audits, and training.
- Participate in emergency response teams and out-of-hours call-outs.
- Manage security protocols, CCTV, alarm systems, and systems like BMS, AutoCAD, and CAFM.
Cleaning, Decontamination, and Infection Control
- Monitor cleaning quality through audits and liaise with housekeeping.
- Organize specialist cleaning services, including laboratory and clinical cleaning.
- Ensure safe use of hydrogen peroxide vapour generators and proper decontamination procedures.
Inspection and Audit
- Support estate condition audits and inspections, identify issues, and recommend mitigation measures.
- Conduct quality checks on work performed by staff and contractors, and generate reports.
General Responsibilities
- Promote equality and inclusive practice.
- Perform other duties as appropriate, including acting as an 'On Call' Engineer and supporting administrative tasks.
- Supervise team members and contractors during routine absences.
- Participate in personal development and training.
What you'll need to succeed
- Good numeracy and literacy skills.
- NEBOSH Certificate - General or Fire.
- Fire Warden training.
- Valid First Aid Certificate.
- Customer care training.
- SIA Licence - CCTV.
- Fire risk assessor qualification.
- Mechanical HNC qualification.
