Job summary

Meridian Business Support Limited is recruiting a Mechanical Estimator in Central London, office-based with the potential for 1-2 days home working. You will own end-to-end pricing, support bid submissions and collaborate with PMs and engineers to improve bid quality on complex mechanical projects.

The role requires experience estimating mechanical building services (HVAC, pipework, plumbing), strong drawing interpretation, and a meticulous, commercially aware approach.

Qualifications

• Confident interpreting drawings, specs and scope.

• Organised and able to juggle multiple tenders and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings/specs and confirm scope, constraints and risks.
• Complete mechanical take-offs (HVAC, pipework, plumbing, BSW).
• Build cost plans (labour, plant, materials, prelims, subbies).
• Run supplier/subcontract enquiries and assess returns.
• Prepare tender submissions (assumptions, clarifications, exclusions).
• Support value engineering and continuous improvement of rates/benchmarks.

Mechanical Estimator
Contract: Full time - Permanent
Reports to: Estimating Manager
Location: Office based;Central London with the opportunity for 1-2 days working from home when up to speed.
Hours: 9am 5pm, with 1- hour unpaid lunch
Salary: £75,000£80,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

The role

Join their estimating team as a Mechanical Estimator and take ownership of end-to-end pricinghelping them win and deliver standout projects. Youll work closely with PMs and engineers, with real scope to influence how they estimate and improve bid quality.

What youll be doing

• Review drawings/specs and confirm scope, constraints and risks

Nice to have: certification (e.g., CPE) and/or experience pricing healthcare, education or heritage projects.
