Job summary

Elvet Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Estimator for a leading family-owned building contractor based in County Durham. The role involves preparing tenders for mechanical projects, reviewing drawings, and producing cost estimates.

You will work with design, commercial and operations teams to identify value engineering opportunities, with occasional site visits. The successful candidate will have mechanical estimating experience, strong IT skills, and a proactive, team-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Experience within the mechanical sector, including plumbing, heating or ventilation.
• Knowledge of mechanical services in commercial and domestic projects.
• Estimating experience within mechanical services.
• Good commercial awareness and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, organisation and IT skills.
• A proactive, positive, team-focused approach.
