Job summary

Qualifications

  • Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent with experience.
  • Experience in mechanical systems, equipment or engineering delivery.
  • Experience in regulated/safety-critical environments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management.
  • Nuclear/energy/defence or major infrastructure experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery, commissioning and operational readiness of critical nuclear mechanical systems.
  • Deliver engineering solutions across mechanical, piping, HVAC and process systems.
  • Support commissioning, testing and validation of mechanical systems.
  • Contribute to construction, installation and equipment engineering activities.
  • Support system turnover, handover and operational readiness programmes.
  • Resolve technical issues, site queries and engineering challenges.
  • Coordinate contractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary project stakeholders.
  • Review technical documentation, design changes and construction modifications.
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage interfaces across engineering, construction and commissioning teams.
  • Support major project milestones through to operational readiness.

Job Description

These opportunities are suited to candidates within commuting distance of Bridgwater or Bristol, depending on role requirements.

  • Support the delivery, commissioning and operational readiness of critical nuclear mechanical systems.

Qualifications
  • Mechanical Engineering degree or relevant technical qualification and experience.
  • Experience in mechanical systems, equipment or engineering delivery.
  • Background in piping, HVAC, rotating equipment, pressure systems, valves, pumps or diesel generators would be advantageous.
  • Commissioning, testing, installation or construction experience highly valued.
  • Experience delivering complex engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working within regulated or safety‑critical environments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Excellent technical problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Commitment to quality, safety and engineering excellence.
  • Nuclear, energy, defence or major infrastructure experience advantageous.
