Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician for a twelve-month contract in Peterborough. This role requires a strong background in engine diagnostics and problem-solving, alongside hands-on experience with internal combustion engines. You will follow standard procedures to ensure high-quality engine builds while collaborating with engineers on testing programs. Qualifications

Job Description:

OEM Build Technician for a twelve-month contract at Peterborough

Overall, three years of experience required including:

  • Good engine and mechanical diagnostic/problem solving skills.
  • Previous experience in engine testing, research and development, building and stripping internal combustion engines, or equivalent transferable skills.
  • An engineering or motor mechanics apprenticeship, relevant work experience, and completed relevant higher education.
  • Follow documented standard work procedures/instructions to perform safe and defect-free engine build, strip, and rebuild tasks that ensure high-quality data collection.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with engineers responsible for engine test programs.
  • Support value stream improvement projects and utilize Lean tools (BIQ, CI, 5S).
