Job summary

MBDA is offering a Mechanical Engineer undergraduate placement in 2027 at Stevenage, UK. You will engage in design, analysis, and testing across multiple areas of mechanical engineering for missiles and defence technology.

Two 5-month placements provide hands-on experience with CAD tools, FEA, and lab work, under guidance from experienced engineers. Security screening and UK work eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Currently an undergraduate studying Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or a comparable subject.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and BPSS security checks after offer stage.
• Interest in applying university learning to real-world defence projects.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical design activities across two 5-month placements.
• Assist in analyses using CAD/FEA and laboratory tests.
• Contribute to materials and processes evaluations and documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on weapon system projects.
